"The law of harvest is to reap more than you sow. Sow an act, and you reap a habit. Sow a habit and you reap a character. Sow a character and you reap a destiny." –
Scripture reading: Genesis 1:11-31
Several years ago, a friend of mine visited our church and heard me expounding the scriptures on casting one’s bread upon the waters according to the Word of God in Eccl. 11:1 and finding it after many days. He walked to me after the service and blurted out, "the principle of seedtime and harvest as delineated in the Bible is not the acceptable way of becoming financially secure in the world." He proceeded to explain to me why saving all one’s resources after taking care of oneself and immediate family is the only way to ensure financial security in the world. He was befuddled about our deep commitment to the Lord through our offerings of the tithe, firstfruits and freewill offering as well as deep care for the poor and needy in our circles of influence. I felt very sad for him because he has not yet experienced the pure ecstasy in being a blessing to others after getting blessed. I realized that he was a victim of a great plague that is afflicting many people in the world and that is, ignorance of God’s irrefutable law of harvest when we sow on His designated grounds. The things of God are really foolishness to those who are perishing and ours is to continue praying and loving them into the abundant life found only in Jesus Christ.
In our scripture reading for today, God revealed to us that there is a law of harvest that is eternally encrypted in every living thing on the earth. He created all the animate things on the earth by first revealing to us the harvest or the end-product. By this act, He affirmed His role to provide the harvest and left the man-ward part of identifying and sowing the seed hidden in the harvest to us. The first thing that man saw on the earth after creation was the harvest, buttressing its surety. Seedtime came later on. God completed His part of the process and perfected it with evidences of harvest all around man. I believe the first man understood this divine partnership with God towards sustaining creation on earth. God’s part was the multiplication and harvest, and man was supposed to always reserve the seed in the harvest for sowing. God’s law of harvest had been set in motion and from that generation, any person who received the principle of sowing and reaping became assured of the indisputability of the harvest. The harvest was introduced before the seedtime erasing any doubt that the former will be manifested in due time. There is a law of harvest that has been unchanging since the foundation of the earth.
In our desperate cries for harvest which is under God’s control, He is also crying for the seed to be sown which is under our control. You have the seed that God is waiting for in order to shower you with the harvest. Yours is to identify the ground and sow today. Once again, God has the harvest and you have the seed; let there be a divine relationship established from this day onwards and remain in the partnership until the Lord returns in the clouds of glory.
Stay blessed as always and remember that the surety of harvest after seedtime is sealed by the irrefutable word of God.
Memory verse:And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, "I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done; while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease." – Gen. 8:21-22
